In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Password Protect single forumHi Kathy,
Thanks for reaching out to our support.
Yes, it looks possible to password protect forums with our PPWP Pro.
You’d need a custom integration with your specific forum platform.
To assist you better, may we know which forum plugin are you using?
You may want to drop us a support email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com for faster response from us, @airfieldnotes
Hi @jgolding94,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I assume you’re using WooCommerce for your online store.
If so, yes it’s possible to achieve exactly what you want with our PPWP Pro and its WooCommerce integration extension.
Here’s how it works:
- Associate the password protected page with a WooCommerce virtual product.
- You can restrict password usage and/or expire the password after a period of time as well.
- Once a customer makes a purchase, they will receive a quick access link or password to access the associating protected page. They won’t be able to access other protected pages.
Hope it makes sense to you.
Let us know if you have any other questions via the comment below or via our email hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com for faster response.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Possible to hide navigation?Hi @aaronrobb,
Thanks for reaching out to our support.
Yes, it’s possible to hide the entire menu on a password protected page using the following codes on your theme’s template file:
<?php if ( ! post_password_required()) { wp_nav_menu(array( 'theme_location' => 'primary', 'menu_id' => 'primary-menu' )); } ?>You can also hide all password protected pages on your menu instead of hiding the entire menu.
Please let us know if it works for you.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Desapointing …Hello @minutepapillon,
First of all, we’re sorry to hear about your experience with our plugin.
Just to clarify, our master passwords do allow you to unlock all password protected posts at once with a single password.
So once you set the master passwords, your users don’t need to enter passwords for each post individually.
It’s weird that you said the users have to re-enter the password on every page or that you have to redo the settings. I highly doubt that there must be some kind of misunderstanding here.
Our support team is always here to help you resolve this kind of issues very quickly. I’m convinced if you allow us to help. You won’t be disappointed any longer.
As WordPress is an open-source community, we’d like to make sure that every customer is able to fully understand what our plugin has to offer.
We really appreciate your feedback about pricing, but we believe other top WordPress plugins in the market are also offering more or less the same pricing, if not even higher.
Please don’t fall into the trap of “cheap & quality” products, which would then come with “cheap” support and rare updates as well.
Anyway, can you please drop us an email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com and allow us to help, please @minutepapillon?
Elena.
Hello @beewax47,
Just to follow up, how’s everything going on your side?
Anyway, here’s a tutorial on how to password protect content sections with WPBakery page builder.
Please let us know if it works for you.
Hello @beewax47,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
It looks like a conflict during the page’s setup.
Do you mind dropping us an email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com with a screenshot of how you build up the page’s content using Bakery page builder?

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Considered okHi @lin482,
Thank you for your feedback.
May we know which features do you want us to include in our Free version?
Compared to other plugins, our Free version does come with a lot more features from unlimited passwords per content, master passwords, form customization to sitewide protection.
By the way, password migration from WordPress to our Free version is necessary as explained in our documentation.
Please let us know if it makes sense to you.
Hello @scarpinoc,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Yes, it’s possible to achieve what you want with our plugins.
Here’s a possible flow.
1. Protect your posts using our Pro version & Group Protection add-on. You will need to create a separate group for each product.
2. Once protected, create a password for each group
3. Email those passwords to your clients after their purchase
Depending on your specific posts, there could be some other solutions to achieve the same goal.
Yes, You can literally create as many passwords as you’d like to on the same page. Some of our customers create as many as 10,000 passwords.
You can even import/export passwords from a CSV file with our Password Suite add-on if it’s more convenient.
Please let us know if it makes sense to you.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] oh thanks for nothing…Hi @adamkayce,
First of all, we’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused when using our plugin.
To answer your question, yes, technical-wise we have to migrate your default WordPress passwords to our systems for our protection to work properly.
For example, WordPress only allows you to set 1 password while our plugin allows unlimited passwords per content.
We can’t use 1 password from WordPress data and the rest from ours. That’s why converting passwords is necessary.
For better user experience, we, just like many other popular plugins, will run the migration processes in the background so that you don’t have to do so manually. This benefits almost all non-tech savvy.
The password migration proccess is explained in our documentation.
During the migration process, we have to also remove the default WordPress passwords as there will be a conflict if we don’t.
Imagine a computer can’t run 2 Operating Systems at the same time.
We do show a warning when you are about to deactivate our plugins though.
There could be a solution to migrate passwords back to your WordPress before deactivating our plugin.
However, it will be very complicated to handle in some cases. Let’s say you’ve created 10 new passwords, we wouldn’t be able to know which one was the original passwords.
Hope you understand there are some technical decisions we have to make to simplify our logic as well as preventing potential bugs.
While we haven’t got any negative feedback on the password migration so far, we understand there can’t be the same solution for everyone.
That’s why we’re always here to help.
Please let us know if you have any other questions and concerns in the comment below or simply drop us an email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com.
If you allow us to help, I’m convinced you won’t be disappointed, @adamkayce.

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Styling in Customizer not workingHi @matthiasallred,
Thanks for reaching out to us with a very clear explanation.
At the moment, the one you edit on WordPress Customizer is for individual content and not sidewide password form.
We could’ve made it clearer for you there.
Anyway, we’re going to provide basic customization for the sitewide password forms on our Free version in the upcoming days.
Are you a tech-savvy who knows basic CSS codes?

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Issues with do_shortcode formatsHi @bearlydoug,
Thanks for reaching out to us with a clear explanation.
Yes, you don’t have to upgrade to password protect your custom page template.
The protection doesn’t work because you doesn’t insert your content the right way.
We’ve put up a few sample codes for your reference in the link above.
Can you please check it out and let us know if it works?

In reply to: [PPWP - Password Protect Pages] Password ExpirationYou’re always welcome, @blindcripple.
No, there is no limit to the number of passwords a page can have. You can create as many passwords as you’d like to. Some of our customers create as many as 7,000 passwords per page.
Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
