it was conditional formatting within the Profile Builder plugin. The password of Tacobell90* was strong whereas TacoBell99% was weak. Go figure!
And I forgot to add that their customer service is top-notch. We had a few difficult field integrations but they ALWAYS responded within a day with a thorough answer.
