 * Yes, of course. I agree. But the data is in the WordPress.org plugin database
   as shown at the plugin pages. If that data isn’t accurate and uptodate then what
   is the point of it? All I’m suggesting is that data also show up in a place where
   it is easy to find rather than a user having to search down that data for each
   and every plugin. Presentation.

 * I think you may have miss-understood what I was suggestion. In the Extend-Plugins
   on WordPress.org it has the info. For example GTranslate says:
 * Requires WordPress Version: 2.3 or higher
    Compatible up to: 3.0.5 Last Updated:
   2010-12-3
 * This information, perhaps in a more condensed form like:
 * WP 2.3-3.0.5 2010-12-3
 * could be on the Admin-Plugin screen next to the plugin so that a administrator
   of a WP install could quickly see the status of the plugins rather than having
   to hunt them all down. This is the sort of easy thing computers are good at doing.
   Looking up each plugin takes a lot of human time.

 * Many thanks! I thought it must be in there somewhere but I wasn’t finding it.
   Not that it was a big bite of my time, I had debated not even posting this question,
   but it became a point of curiosity…
 * And I love bacon too, as you might guess since I have 300 pigs. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Yes,
   for real! We raise pastured pigs. Some of the big breeders are 800 lbs or even
   a lot larger than that.

 * I have been spot checking through my old posts (the vanished one was old) and
   have not found any other blank posts. If anyone knows of a way to “find all posts
   of length less than X characters” that would be most appreciated. That would
   find the if there are any other blanks.

 * I’m behind by 0.01 (1%) on the version but this hasn’t happened for two months
   before that during which I’ve been running that version so I have a hard time
   believing that is an issue. I haven’t changed that.
 * I haven’t been installing new plugins and the ones I have were documented as
   compatible and installed through WordPress.
 * I’m using TwentyTen so that’s a reputable theme and it was installed with WordPress
   at the time of install so that is a reputable source.
 * I do backup, praise the chron and my paranoia.
 * Any other ideas?
 * Any ideas on how to find all blank posts? I would like to look somehow to see
   if this has happened to any others.
 * Thanks!

 * I use redirects for doing things like #3. CPanel handles this as an interface
   or edit .htaccess directly.

 * Hmm… I have mod_rewrite enabled so that isn’t it. This is all on the same server
   in a reseller WHM account using different CPanel accounts. Any other ideas before
   I ask the host? They are glacial to respond so I only want to submit one query

 * First of May. It will definitely be out then. 🙂
 * Actually, I’ve been using the beta 2 since it came out and it seems pretty stable.
   Keep backups though.

 * Drat. This problem just got worse. I renamed the second blog from ‘blog’ to ‘
   blog2’ ins the Super Admin. Going to [http://flashweb.com](http://flashweb.com)
   still works fine except my custom header photo is missing (2010 theme). It had
   been fine before. I verified that it is in the appropriate directory. But it
   is worse. Now when I got to a post, such as
 * [http://flashweb.com/blog/2010/05/apple-blossoms/](http://flashweb.com/blog/2010/05/apple-blossoms/)
 * I get:
 * Not Found
    The requested URL /blog/2010/05/apple-blossoms/ was not found on this
   server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use
   an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
 * and:
 * [http://flashweb.com/2010/05/apple-blossoms/](http://flashweb.com/2010/05/apple-blossoms/)
 * gives the same result.
 * If I change the Settings-Permalinks to the default (I had the year/month/post)
   so the links are like this:
 * [http://flashweb.com/?p=1500](http://flashweb.com/?p=1500)
 * then it works except the header photo is still missing in action.
 * I tried changing the name of that second errant ‘blog2’ back to ‘blog’ but that
   does not help.
 * All plugins are deactivated.
 * Ideas?

 * Thank you, Ipstenu. That was it. I changed blog to blog2 to fix it too. My that
   has a nice ring to it. Poetry aside. This explains another problem I had had
   on another install. Thanks.

 * Follow Andrea’s tutorial at:
 * [http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network](http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network)
 * The special coding is here:
 * define( ‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, true );
 * That is in the code it gives you back if it doesn’t have direct access to modify
   your files. But it will ask you which you want and then give you that code to
   install in your wp-config.php so follow the directions. I have gotten it to work,
   sometimes. I screwed up some other things. Five out of seven installs worked
   for me. :}

 * Yes. But the question is, which is better. I think I like the directories better.
   I am no expert on this topic. Thoughts and reasons one way or the other?

 * Beware that I exported from WordPress and when I reimported I had lost a lot
   of my formatting. Specifically center and i which apparently the WP censorbody
   has dismissed since it is not part of the new HTML. A gotcha ouch. 🙁 It means
   my reimported blog looks very different than my old blog.

 * Agreed. This needs to be made into a push button. I have now done six installs
   of WP3.0 for multi-user and not all of them have worked. It should take a couple
   of minutes and it has taken days. I keep very careful notes and follow them but
   it does not always work. Time for a button.

 * I’m getting the same thing. I had previously done an install with WP3.0b1 and
   it worked fine. I just tried doing exactly the same install procedure (from careful
   notes) but on a different account using WP3.0b2 but when I create a second test
   blog under the WP MU Super User I get 404’s. Racking my brains against the screen
   here…
