I solved my problem. I was not generating a button with all of the product information on it (e.g. I did not choose the product from my products – I was just using the sample stuff they have on the page) … and the script was not associated with either my product or shopify site. There was a line of code missing at the end – is how I realized it.
In your case, it sounds like you are posting into the VISUAL page and not the TEXT page. That will cause your result.
