Still hoping that someone can help with this. I’ve checked and unchecked the box, deleted and re-submitted my sitemap in Google Console, etc. Nothing works — these 26 authors are still stuck on “noindex.”
I should clarify — I do see the “Do not allow search engines to show this author’s archives in search results.” checkbox on the individual author pages, but it is unchecked on all.
As an experiment, for one author I tried checking it, saving, and re-checking and saving it, but it made no difference.

In reply to: [Search Everything] Alternative search everything plugin?Ivory Search looks good but it won’t search authors in the free version.
Never mind. I finally got it working. The callback address had me tripped up. My WordPress installation is in its own directory, so I had modified the callback address to
https://mywebsite.com/directory/wp-admin/admin.phpThat didn’t work.
I finally did change it to https://mywebsite.com/wp-admin/admin.php as suggested in your guide (even though that address, on my website, gives a 404).And it worked. I don’t really understand this, since there is no “wp-admin” at that address, but hey, it’s working so it’s all right I guess.
It might be helpful to add a note in the instructions that this URL must be exactly in the stated format — even if the site in question isn’t really located there.
I applied to create the new Twitter application, following your instructions, but got a message from them that they couldn’t approve it without more information. Is there any other solution?

In reply to: [Backup and Staging by WP Time Capsule] Plugins no longer updateI meant to say in my previous reply — both auto updates and backup before manual update are unchecked.

In reply to: [Backup and Staging by WP Time Capsule] Plugins no longer updateThanks for your reply. Unfortunately that’s not it — I haven’t ever enabled auto updates. (I like to do that myself.) I just checked and it’s not enabled.

In reply to: [Co-Authors Plus] CoAuthor in RSS Feed FixThank you! This is so very useful.
Robin,
My apologies for taking so long to reply. Christmas got in the way but now I’ve got my wheels back on the rails.
I downloaded the output file and voila! — it did solve the issue.
For what it’s worth, I haven’t coded special characters into the title; I just type them. I do use Yoast, which does some rewriting of the titles.
I tested your new file with a number of posts and each title appeared exactly as expected.
Thanks again! And Happy New Year!
DeniseHi Robin, thanks for your reply. Sorry it took me so long to get back here.
I am using the most recent version of the plugin. I’m using Chrome and yes, it is only Twitter that it’s happening with.
It’s happening with em-dashes on many pages (–), etc.
Here’s are some examples:

Sorry, the example didn’t post correctly. The em-dash is rendered as the code for an emdash instead.
I have emailed.
Yes, the plugin is up to date.

In reply to: [Sprout Invoices - Client Invoicing & Estimates] update crashed WordPressHi Dan,
Yes, I’m using the updated version of Sprout Invoices. I downloaded the PayPal add-on from your website 3 weeks ago (when this support thread was opened) and once again this morning in case it had been updated.
I will email you in a few minutes. Thanks.
Denise

In reply to: [Sprout Invoices - Client Invoicing & Estimates] update crashed WordPressSome strange things have been happening since I installed the new PayPal plugin.
I will bill an amount — for example, $30 — and my client will pay via the invoice. But that’s not what they’re billed, or what shows up in my PayPal Account.
For example: A $95 invoice, marked as paid in full, but only a $2.06 payment came into my PP acct.
Also: A $30 invoice, marked as paid in full — but both a $30 and weird $.65 payment showed up in my account.
Also another $30 invoice: all that showed up in my PayPal account was a $.65 payment and second one for $.98.
This means I’m not getting paid full amounts, not getting paid on time (or at all), and it’s embarrassing to approach my clients about re-paying. I am losing money.
Hoping you have suggestions as to how this can be rectified? Otherwise I need to look at getting a different plugin but I would love to keep this one.
best wishes,
Denise- This reply was modified 8 years, 8 months ago by quantaweb.
