In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againOk, I was on the phone with the godaddy guy and he said to just restore my old database and then go into the dashboard and change my theme from my custom theme to a wordpress theme. So, we restored it but when we did theirs a problem with the banner ad header, but anyway at least I was able to log in to the admin page again. So, should I do what he said now and change my theme from our custom theme to one of the wordpress themes and then try the automatic upgrade? I’m just worried that doing the manual one, I’ll just screw something up even more. I don’t know. Suggestions please?

In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againSo this error i originally posted about in the beginning of this post doesn’t have anything to do with it?
And, you said to change the plugins folder to plugins.hold. And, the theme folder mmaclarksville-old, that’s not supposed to be “hold” as well?

In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againI renamed it to mmaclarksville-old but it didn’t fix anything, still coming up with same error when I try to go to website.

In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againOk, so just to be clear I’m in the wp-content folder>themes and there are three folders in here default, classic and mmaclarksville, and a file called index.php. The mmaclarksville folder is our custom theme. So, can i just rename that to mmaclarksville-old?

In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againTry:
– switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
What do I rename it to exactly?

In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againOk, well i went into that file wp-settings and added that line:
require(/home/content/m/m/a/mmaclark/html/wordpress/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]
And, now I’m getting this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘/’ in /home/content/m/m/a/mmaclark/html/wordpress/wp-settings.php on line 21
But, I don’t know what error it could be, not sure what I’m looking at exactly.
Should I remove that line i added and just try and do what you’re talking about with the theme?
Thanks for your help, really appreciate it.

In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againAnd, we have a custom theme that was designed for us, so can I still switch to the Twenty Ten theme? I’m just not following you.

In reply to: upgrade to 3.0.4 is NOT working, now website is missing againI have no idea what you’re talking about, lol. I use godaddy, they have a file manager and i can see all my files in there. Is that what you’re talking about?

In reply to: Automatic upgrade and plug ins buttons are not on the DashboardThere is no users page that I can see, or at least nothing that shows me in any role. How do i make myself the administrator? I logged into phpMyAdmin and went to the wp-users area. There are two users listed
Admin (listed with the e-mail address of the guy who set it up the website for us) and Ron (me). I went to look at the passwords but they are really long with lots of different characters and neither worked anyway. Can I changed the email address of the admin account in php to my email so that when I go to log in I can have them send me a new password for the admin account through the password recovery option?Forum: Fixing WordPress
