In reply to: [YASR - Yet Another Star Rating Plugin for WordPress] YASR ajax call failedHello Dudo, do you happen to have an update on this by chance? Also, from your experience, have you seen google blocking rich snippets from private pages?
As you know they changed the way they index pages. It will always prioritize the mobile version of a page (mobile first indexing). As mentioned before all my mobile pages are forced to have the status of private. I do notice that i am not showing up in google with any rich snippets / review snippets. They DO however show up within google structured data tool. So its not that they dont recognize the rich snippet, but for some reason they decide not to show it.
Thats great news Jose ( and sorry for my late reply ).
From my end the pages are all showing correct in google now. I think we can mark this issue as solved, unless you want to wait for your new version update to be ready 🙂Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [YASR - Yet Another Star Rating Plugin for WordPress] YASR ajax call failedThats great to hear. Unfortunately the private mode is forced by the plugin. It forces this in order to avoid conflicts in google serp. I will keep watching this topic for any updates. Thanks.

In reply to: [YASR - Yet Another Star Rating Plugin for WordPress] YASR ajax call failedThanks for your respond Dudo. ID7077 exists, and i am using this ID reference on my desktop version of the page. It correctly sources the star information from page ID7077 to the desktop version.
However, ID7077 is a private page. The specific content for mobile plugin is using private pages for the mobile versions of the desktop page. I am not sure how this works, but from your end, could you tell me if the status “private” of ID7077 could cause a problem?
I cannot think of any other plugins that might interact with YASR in some way..
From a SEO perspective you do not want to have discrepancies between the meta information on mobile and desktop page, from what i understood. But then again SEO is not my specialization so if anyone with a SEO background can confirm, that would be great. I am just referring to this article by google:
https://developers.google.com/search/mobile-sites/mobile-first-indexing
I guess you could perhaps give the user a checkbox option, and when its value is set to checked the meta information from desktop will be automatically sourced into mobile. That is if you want the desktop version to still be the leading source for mobile.
Hello Jose, and thanks for your extensive reply. I have the same results as you describe, when viewing the page source. When doing so its all working correct.
The problem becomes clear however the moment i put the desktop URL in google webmaster inspection tool. It will show the mobile version of the meta information. I waited a few days and saw the actual results in google reflecting the above.
This is what i did, maybe you can reproduce it:
#1 I made a desktop page, to then make a mobile version of that page.
#2 I created a Yoast meta title and description for the desktop page, i left the mobile version meta title and description empty.
#3 I created a canonical URL within the mobile page, pointing to the desktop URL.
#4 I used the desktop URL within google webmaster inspection tool, and saw the mobile meta title and description showing up
#5 awaited a few days and google will show this mobile tag in the actual result page.- This reply was modified 5 years, 9 months ago by robertkun.
Hi Jose,
To answer your questions. I do not have any internal links pointing to the mobile URL. I also made sure and doublechecked that I dont have any mobile URL’s in the sitemap.
I am using Yoast SEO to organize the meta titles and descriptions.
I hope this is enough information for you at this point.
Hello Jose, the majority of the mobile URL’s are now gone from google. There is just one mobile URL that is shown in search results, despite having disabled all SEO on this page. I did not submit it in a sitemap, but it was crawled by google outside of the sitemap.
This isnt a big issue for me, considering its just one link.
Maybe for your reference. If searching for fxhybrid lijntrader, the first result that pops up is from a mobile page, resulting in 404: https://forexhybrid.nl/fxhybrid-lijntrader-mobile/

In reply to: [WP YouTube Lyte] YT Lyte video not showing in ChromeHi Frank, you are absolutely correct. I just found out the issue. Within WP rocket there is an option to combine CSS and combine Javascript. These options were enabled. I disabled them but the issue still persisted. Apparently this had to do with me forgetting to clear the cookies on both WP rocket and within my internet browser.
So disable combining CSS & JS + clearing the cookies seems to have solved it. Thanks for your respond and groeten terug uit Nederland 😉

In reply to: [wpForo Forum] Responsiveness issue on topic/post viewYour solution was quick, simple, and it worked. Thank you for the support.
I now tried to fix this problem by adding a canonical URL within the mobile page, pointing to the desktop page. Do you think this might solve it? Meanwhile will await google results..
Hello Jose,
Today google gave me a couple of messages regarding pages within the sitemap being marked as no-index. It mentioned the desktop URL pages that all include a mobile version.
I think this is because a couple of days ago I removed the meta tag from the mobile pages, and while i was on it i also set these pages to no-index.
For some reason google then automatically sees the original desktop version as no-index as well?
This is a problem because if i remove the no-index from the mobile pages, they show up in google but result in a 404.

That’s great news. I think the problem occurs when you create a mobile version of a page which already includes Yoast SEO. I noticed that this new created mobile page had the meta-tag of the desktop version, together with the option to have it indexed by google (under advanced settings Yoast).
I cannot recall me putting this information manually.
