In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Does not download or updateIt’s just a mistake in the naming of the update. I already sent Josh a message.
If you need to get the update now, follow these steps:
1. Click on “Developers” from the main page.
2. Look for “Other versions”
3. Click on “Development version (svn)”That will be Ultimate TinyMCE version 4.8, the latest version.
Install it to your wp-content/plugins directory of your site. It will overwrite your Ultimate TinyMCE installation with the latest version. Answer “yes” if it asks if you want to overwrite.
Or you can wait until this evening and Josh will probably have the download working here.

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Event Title link does not workClick on “Developers”.
You will see a list of all the previous versions. Click on the one you want to download the zip file.
Deactivate and delete the current version before you try to install an older version.

In reply to: [WP UI - Tabs, Accordions, Sliders] Conflict with StylesThe author of the Styles plugin got back to me and it seems that the problem is that WP UI has a conflict with the WP Customizer. I disabled the Styles plugin and tried several other themes. Every theme in the WP Customizer had the same problem. Once I disable the WP UI plugin, the problem goes away.
More and more users are using the WP Customizer. Any who are using your plugin will encounter this problem.

In reply to: [Styles] Conflict with WP UI pluginThanks Paul.
Try this one in the Customizer and see what you get.
You should see the arrows in the tabs increasing in number.
I had another tab in this code to test a post with an image, but I left that out. Took up too much space and doesn’t really add anything.I uninstalled Styles & the Style Twenty Twelve theme. Tried a couple of other themes and I’m getting the same thing. I believe you’re right. It seems WP UI has a problem with Customizer and not your plugin.
Here’s the code below that I used for testing the WP UI plugin.

[wptabtitle] Is this a WordPress Multisite? [/wptabtitle]
[wptabcontent]No, this is a single WordPress installation.
However, this does seem to work on multisite. It will take more testing to determine if that’s true.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Question Multisite…If UT is network activated or activated just as one site at a time, a contributor, subscriber or editor does not have permission to access the plugin or the settings for the plugin.
They can access the UT editor but that’s it. Only the admin has permission to change the settings, or install or uninstall the plugin.
That is on WP 3.5.1 Multisite.
If you are going for standardization among the sites, I would think an admin would want all settings to be the same. That’s the way it works now. The network admin activates it for all sites and then sets the settings for all sites.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Hacked? Thanks Mike!
Normally I try to stay ahead of Josh and set up the next version of WP for testing with Ultimate TinyMCE. I’ve been pretty busy lately and haven’t even set up WP 3.6. Glad to hear that UT isn’t having any conflicts. I do want to get WP 3.6 set up and check out some of the new features.
It gets more complicated these days because you have to set up a WP MultiSite and single install of WP for testing. That’s 2 for the current version of WP and 2 for the upcoming version.
The reason you didn’t see very many issues with Josh’s plugin and WP 3.5 is because he had already tested it on that platform before it came out.
I’m amazed that some software companies are still in business with the junk they put out. And they even put up forums but never respond to questions. Makes me wonder what they do all day.
I never worry about that with Josh. He’s so busy that he needs people telling him to slow down. I’ve had some ideas about new features in UT, but I don’t tell Josh because I’m afraid he might put those on his todo list too. LOL!

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Hacked?Well, if I didn’t mention you by name then maybe I wasn’t addressing this to you, right?
I think you made some valid points. And I think you did handle it pretty calmly in the end.
I just can’t see some people trashing a very good plugin that is being used by over one million people. That’s like throwing the baby out with the bath water, don’t you think?
There are too many plugins out there that people just aren’t updating anymore for whatever reason. I think we should be encouraging, rather than discouraging, plugin authors to keep improving their plugins.
Mike saw a problem with the plugin and asked Josh about it. Josh gave him an answer and also how to disable the feature.
Giving a plugin author feedback is the way to do it. Bashing them about how one got “ripped off” by “free” software is not. (I’m not saying you did that.)
It could be worse. You could have paid for the software, had it almost destroy one of your websites and then have the author not respond for over a month (and counting).

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Hacked?I doubt that anyone has put in more time and effort on their plugin than Josh. Most people don’t even know the half of it. Josh has sacrificed a lot more than most people know to develop this plugin.
I wonder about open-source development myself. That would be a shame to see that end. We need young budding programmers to get their feet wet with open-source development and we need some of us old-timers to help them along.
A lot of these “free” WordPress plugins are better than the paid software people throw their money away on. Trust me on that one. I’ve wasted more money on bad software than I care to think about.
Josh has thrown just about everything into this plugin except the kitchen sink. Yeah, he tried something new. Instead of jumping on him with both feet and crying that the world is coming to an end, you could have posted to his private forum, as some did, and he would have explained.
I would rather encourage good programmers to continue creating good software than trashing them for no benefit.
Anyway, this is a great plugin and will continue to be.
Keep up the good work, Josh!

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] BBpress ConflictHow do you have the private forums set up? Are they Open or Closed? Is the visibility set to Private? Is there a parent forum?
I’m trying to set up the same conditions you have, but it’s all working for me. I’ve tried it from the admin level to the subscriber level and it all works like it should.
What “small admin menu” are you referring to? If you are referring to: “Edit | Close | Stick (to front) | Merge | Trash | Spam”, they are all there. They’re faint but they are there.
I’m using the latest version of WP 3.5. Latest version of bbPress. And the latest version of Ultimate TinyMCE 3.9.
If everything is working for you, (and I hope it is), please mark this as resolved.

In reply to: [Ultimate TinyMCE] Waht's Happened to Test Style and the Shortcode Dropdowns? They are both there. I’ve been working/testing WP 3.5 and Ultimate TinyMCE since the first WP 3.5 beta. There have been many changes to WP 3.5 core and not every plugin author has tested against the latest version. I know that Josh has, so I would lean towards it being another plugin causing the problem.
What I would recommend is that you disable your plugins one at a time and see if you can find a conflict. You’ll also have to make sure to flush your cache.
If you do find a conflict, you should notify the plugin author. They may not be aware of it yet.
Use this same procedure on any other plugin which was working prior to WP 3.5 and is not working properly now.
Hope that helps.

Message:Enforce a minimum of two arguments for wpdb::prepare(). The first argument is the query (or fragment thereof), which is required. Additional arguments are values to substitute into placeholders.
This will generate E_WARNINGs for insufficient arguments when prepare() is called with no additional arguments. This should discourage improper uses of prepare() under the guise of safely running a query.
props xknown. fixes #22262.
It looks like they are forcing wpdb to have a second argument.
