Nothing new on my end. I have not had a chance to check on other OS versions.

mekstra! Yes! you’ve got it right!

    That’s how it works.

If you want to use files that have already been uploaded, then just insert those audi files as links into your post (not album), and then use the AutoPlayer.

Glad you figured it out. Thanks for sharing with this thread!

I think I understand your mistake now. After you upload… Just save the album and be done. You do not need to insert the mp3 into post. Just upload from the album post’s media button.
Then you can insert the player Into a regular post by using the tinyMCE drop down in the post editor. Video coming soon. If these directions + the readme don’t mAke sense to you, then hold off until I upload the demo video. It should help explain.

    @amefa:
This is odd. Using the add media button, you should be able to upload new media from your computer to the album.

After you upload an mp3, even though the file does not attach itself to the album post, do you at least see the mp3 as part of your global media library? IN other words does the mp3 file actually get uplaoded to your site?

As far as a tutorial goes, there are instructions in the README.txt file.

But some folk are having difficulties anyway. So I will create a screenshot video soon to help demonstrate.

Again, sorry for your troubles. They might be related to a plugin conflict. I notice that you have a few plugins altering the look of the album post screen, and I wonder if something is getting in the way.

All i can say is that the plugin works very well for me on 3.5.2 and 3.6.

I don’t think this is because of a conflict with your existing post type called ‘album’.

The plugin post type is only labeled ‘albums’, but in the code it is called something more unique se_album_collection to avoid conflicts.

I am not sure why your mp3s are not showing up. Are you sure that you are adding the mp3s to the album post directly? The audio must be added to the media library from WITHIN the album post for it to become ‘attached’ to the album post.

Sorry for your troubles. But it sounds like they can be resolved by following the instructions in the usage section of the plugin page or the README.txt file.

It sounds like you’re trying to make the plugin work in the way you imagine it should work instead of in the fashion demonstrated in the README.txt.

    Please read carefully.

I just tested this on WP 3.6, Mac OS 10.7.5, Chrome. Everything works exactly as it should.

Uploaded media must be added to the Media Library from WITHIN the album post.

It will then show up as “uploaded to this post”.

If you’ve already uploaded your music elsewhere in WP you can always just use the autoplayer by actually inserting the mp3 links into your regular post, and then using the AutoPlayer from the TinyMCE dropdown.

This will collect all of the mp3 links (removing the mp3 <a> tags form the post) and display them in a player. You can set the cover maually by adding the ‘cover’ attribute in the smart code.

    Check out the readme.txt

This is not a bug. And the plugin is not broken… as far as I understand what you’re saying.

There is never a textarea for album post types. Only the Add Media Button.

If you want to modify an album after creating it, click the Add Media Button, and then use the drop down menu to select “Uploaded to this post”.

Then edit the audio files in the dialog and save your changes.

nutman, are you saving the changes within you media uploader dialog after reordering?

    Also:
what browser, browser version, and OS are you using?

last, can you post your process of creating an album, step by step?

    Thanks!

Ill try to test and check on different systems when I get the opportunity. I’d really like to be able to offer playback across all browsers/ OS.

Keep me posted. Ill do the same.

Your investigation is greatly appreciated. I’ve not done much work with tinyMCE as I’m almost never in the visual editor myself.

But your findings will help me improve the plugin for users who might be encountering the same problem. So thanks, and ill wait to hear from ya.

    Nutman!!!

Thank you for this detailed feedback. I had a feeling the problem was not rooted in the plugin.

Using this info, ill try to see if we can trick chrome into a fuller/faster buffering to help people who run into this host+chrome issue.

Thanks for looking into this and sharing your findings.

Ok. I’m resolving this thread. I believe there’s enough room for 3 digit numbers. If you need more room you can always use CSS to target the <td> that the track numbers live in. 🙂

Hrm. I’ve removed two calls to console.log from the tinyMCE part of the plugin. I’ve heard that these calls can mess with FF execution.

Check out version 1.1.0. Did it solve your issue?

For me, on Mac w/ FireFox 22.0, the dropdown works just fine with 1.1.0.

    Ron,

That’s odd. Are you definitely using the Visual Editor?

I have not run into this issue myself.
