I got your point. I have visited the page and found that the images are getting a lazy load which is responsible for the issue. Do you use any optimization plugin? Give a try turning off the lazy load from the plugins/theme.

Thanks for sharing the page. Put the blow CSS to the plugin Setting > Custom CSS field to fix the white space on the right side of the page.

The editor is capable to create and edit carousel posts because manage_options capability gives permission to add/edit the carousel posts.
