In reply to: Restoring website after copying it to backup folderNevermind. I kept reading in the forums and found the answer!!! Persistence paid off.
Answer to the problem of copying your site files and then logo goes missing:
– go to your website and view the Page Source
– find your logo file name in the code
– create that destination on your server (through FTP or File Manager), if it doesn’t exist anymore (as in my case)
– put a logo file in that destination, using the SAME NAME that your Page Source says.Good luck!

In reply to: Restoring website after copying it to backup folderReading the forums and none I came across talk of how to RESOLVE the issue. Learned about backing up, however, and have since installed the Updraft Backup plugin for automatic backups.
Who knew I was offending the WP Gods when I copied files!!
Just want to resolve the logo/favicon issue now. Can someone help me?
Many thanks,

In reply to: 3.8.2 messed up my siteBy process of elimination (deactivating plugins), i found that the WooCommerce plugin that came with my theme (Flexform) was breaking my website.
I have contacted WooCommerce for support on this. I will update here when I find a solution.
The WordPress 3.8.2 update works perfectly, now that I’ve discovered the problem – no issues at all. Except, that it isn’t working with WooCommerce.
Please stand by.
Many thanks,

Ugh ugh ugh. This was a nightmare.
Looks like WooCommerce Groups plugin is the problem.

In reply to: WordPress 3.8.2 update has broken my websiteHi WPDesigner,
I have disabled my plugins. Should I revert back to my theme and see what it looks like?
If so, is there a specific process for that, besides choosing it from my Themes page?
Please let me know,
Many thanks,

In reply to: WordPress 3.8.2 update has broken my websiteWas able to upload new twentyfourteen.
BUT I’m lost now. I downloaded phpMyAdmin and the instructions in the FAQ Troublshooting link don’t seem to apply. The instructions are:
Use phpMyAdmin to deactivate all plugins.
1. In the table wp_options, under the option_name column (field) find the active_plugins row
2. Change the option_value field to: a:0:{}I can’t find info in 1. and 2. in the download’s files. Where do I find the table/this info?

In reply to: WordPress 3.8.2 update has broken my websitethe theme folder i renamed (before re-uploading all but three 3.8.2 files again) is my purchased theme, Flexform. I renamed the folder to “flexform-old”.
The other theme folders folders are untouched.
I reset the plugins folder by these instructions in the link you gave (http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F):
1. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, navigate to the wp-contents folder (directory)
2. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename the folder “plugins” to “plugins.hold”
3. Login to your WordPress administration menus (/wp-admin)
4. Via FTP or your host’s file manager, rename “plugins.hold” back to “plugins”SD

In reply to: 3.8.2 update has trashed my website! If you want to control what updates you accept, do this:
• from your site’s Add New Plugins page, search “Update Control”.
• install it, activate it
• go to your site’s “Settings” page, scroll down a bit and DISABLE the auto-update where you see the option. That will give you more control.
My site is broken too. I am getting immediate help in the forums. Despite swearing a BLUE STREAK in 90 homemade languages and downright sobbing in my office, I have been professional to the WP people, so they are helping me. Abusing them won’t help me. Fixing the site helps me.
Go ahead and ask for help, @misscreant (btw, great name!). WP knows we’re pissed. They probably are too.
Good luck. Hope your day gets better. 🙂
