the crop feature is enabled for any user which have the edit_post capability for a given image id (https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Function_Reference/current_user_can).
Please check if the user with the custom role has this capability.

the requirements are the same dependencies that are needed by WP core to crop and edit images (GD for sure).
It’s tested with PHP7+Apache.
Please try to crop an image via the WP core edit image section and see if you have the same problem.

we’ve just added the search images in the “Add Media” modal, please upgrade the plugin to the latest version.
Instead we have no updates about issues with ACF Pro since we’re not able to provide support for integration issues with paid plugins… however, if you could provide further details (php error logs, web browser console logs) we could try to analyze the issues.

We’re trying to support the compatibility between YoImages and other open-source themes/plugins but we cannot support the compatibility with “closed-source” themes/plugins.

Only the image sizes which have the “hard crop” option set totrueare handled by the manual crop interface of YoImages.
This is because “soft crops” are actually resizes of the original image (so nothing of the original image is missing, therefore there is no need to adjust the crop result manually).

by default, WP does not generate crops for images that are smaller than the crop size itself.
You can get a stretched version of these crops by manually cropping the small images with the manual crop function offered by the YoImages plugin.
The problem is that, as the warning message will alert you as soon as you generate a stretched crop, this crop will result in a blurred image.
The preferred way, as the same warning message will suggest to you, is to upload a bigger original image or to use the YoImages’ “replace crop” feature to use another bigger image just for a specific crop format.
Hope it’s clear, otherwise don’t esitate to ask.

This version have been tested up to WP 4.8
If you’re still experiencing any issues, please make sure to clean your browser cache and to fully reload the wp-admin page before trying to crop an image.

we’ve just checked with Advanced Custom Fields (we don’t have the Pro version…) and the stock search tab is showing on add/modify featured image.
If you’re referring to add media into post/page body instead, well actually the plugin is not supporting it as of now… please use this discussion for further details: https://github.com/sirulli/yoimages/issues/43
