Solution was to re-activate an expired licenses for the premium version. The active license provided access to the latest release.

I dug into this some and it does look like there is a bug. Using the shipment details you provided I see the API returning $32.46 for the base and $6.65 for the fuel surcharge. I would expect the front end to show a total of $39.11 ($32.46 + $6.65), not $32.46.
I see the solution but just want to spend a bit of time today reading over the Canada Post API to make sure the fix is appropriate. Once that’s done I will push a new release that should fix this.

Thanks for reaching out. The plugin should be showing shipping rates including the fuel surcharge. Can you provide me the source and destination postal code you’re testing with so I can try and replicate this on my side?

As far as I can tell the free version of the plugin has had a fix in place for a long time. It does look like there was still an edge case in the premium version where it could throw a warning, and I’ve fixed that now too.

I’m not aware of my plug showing an error like “Canada Post requires that the currency is set to Canadian Dollars.“, could you double check that you don’t have another Canada Post plugin installed or some other settings in WooCommerce?
In any case, I can tell you that the Canada Post API only returns CAD, not USD. If you wanted to try and convert it you’d need some custom code or another currency conversion plugin.

I’ve actually updated a bunch of the backend code in the premium version and it’s now much more efficient.

In order for us to figure out what’s going on can you send the following.
- A screenshot of the plugin settings page so I can see how you have it set up.
- A screenshot of the size and weight of the product you’re testing with, a link to the product is fine too.
- A screenshot of what shipping rates you’re seeing on the checkout.
- How much Canada Post is charging for the same shipment at the counter.
