Thanks very much for the help, Hostgator customer service cancelled all the plugins so I was able to get back into the dashboard and make the necessary changes.
Thank you for the info, I will contact the host and see about how to do that.
I have found the answer to this question and am posting it here because I noticed the question asked before and not answered.
If you use the add comment box when you enter your post, this will give you feedback and not comments.
To get comments you need to add this text to the end of your post:
<?php comments_template() ; ?>
