Meant to update on this and say that the problem was fixed.
I think it was because I didn’t wait for everything to full transfer over to the new hosting service from byethost to freehosting, so after some time had past it resolved itself somehow. Not sure if this is because I e-mailed freehosting myself asking about the cookie validator and they just did something without telling me, or if playing the waiting game worked itself out. Regardless, I’m happy.
