No change after I commented out the .htaccess file code; it only contained a rewrite module section.

Ooops! I should have added that, before I did the database transfer I edited the SQL file to change the site addresses from /localhost:8888/ to the test site address. 66 changes.

I’m used to working with Apache 1.3.X and this server uses Apache 2 with configuration files scattered all over the place. The key file seems to be default-server.conf. If so, should AllowOverride be set to All, FileInfo, Options or ?
