Hi and thank you for your replies. I have found the problem.
The Safari resizing issue came from something to do with the “Lightbox-2” plugin I was using (http://www.stimuli.ca/lightbox/) not from NGG.
When I switched to the “Lightbox-2-wordpress-plugin” (http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/lightbox-2-wordpress-plugin.zip) the resizing problem went away.
I’m not a programmer so I can’t give you any more specific info than that but I hope it helps someone else somewhere.
