In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Disable .pdf cachingThanks for your response. I kind of get how it works, and did get it to work, once, but it needs to be more automatic somehow.
If I’m reading this correctly, every time I edit the pdf, and replace it in the media library, I have to manually “go to Performance>Browser Cache, click the “Update Media query string” button at the top of the page as shown in the screenshot below, save all settings and purge the cache”? Or, is that a one-time process?
The problem is, on some sites another user may edit a regular page, such as a meeting schedule change. I don’t want to have to manually clear the cache every time something is updated, and I certainly don’t want another logged-in user who edits a page to do it. Isn’t there a way to have it recognize there is a change automatically? Is there a way to have a list of pages that are regularly updated and should not be cached?
What is the simplest way to make user non-logged-in users see the most recent version as soon as it’s published?
Thanks.
Ok, thanks. Although, every time I reactivate the plugin I get the error again. How can you tell it ran out of memory? It’s complaining about running out of max execute time.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Error after update to 2.8.12Hi Marko,
Thanks for your response. I only received the email message after I updated the plugin. I did “purge all caches”, and didn’t receive any error so far, so unless I get another email from wordpress, I won’t know if it’s still a problem.

In reply to: [reCaptcha by BestWebSoft] Fatal Error reported from WordPress reCaptchaSo the plugin shows as inactive, and I have the option to rollback. No rollback plugin. Is there a rollback built into wordpress now? Does it have to be active to be rolled back?
Update: It looks like I have another plugin installed which is being used anyway. ReCaptcha v2 for Contact Form 7. Not sure why I had two. I’ll leave it as is for now, as the site and the contact form is working.

In reply to: [reCaptcha by BestWebSoft] Fatal Error reported from WordPress reCaptchaGreat, I renamed the plugin’s folder, and the site is working. Thanks. Was able to login and the plugin gives me the option to rollback, but I guess because I renamed the folder, I get an error message. Do I have to rename the folder back to the original? Will it crash the site and log me out again? Ugh.

In reply to: [reCaptcha by BestWebSoft] Fatal Error reported from WordPress reCaptchaThanks for that. I had forgotten that option to rename the plugin file. I’ve never done a rollback. Is it straightforward?

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Unable to complete backupHi Nick,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Today I was able to back up both sites that wouldn’t complete. I updated the plugin and voila! I don’t know if it was an issue with the plugin or a coincidence, but as long as it’s working, I’m happy!
Best,
Terry
Still, wouldn’t I be able to run a backup manually?
I had forgotten that I did install it, and all the events have exclamation points next to them. Does that mean they couldn’t run?

In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Incorrect date on calendar home pageNote that May 25, 2025 is not the last event in the list – they go through June 7, 2025, so I don’t know why that date may have been chosen.

Re-authenticating worked for me.
I had the same issue earlier today after I updated the plugin. Did you check to make sure it says it’s authenticated? After the update, mine was not. Re-authenticating solved the problem.
