 * The following is part of a chat I had with HostGator after the technician fixed
the problem temporarily. Following that chat, I attempted to salvage files from
the library but MalwareBytes continued its warnings, so my intent is to start
over on a new domain, and take down completely the damaged wordpress site, reinstall
a new wordpress, etc. I do not possess the technical skill to deal with the .
htaccess scripting, nor the money to hire somebody to look at it. It has never
been my intention to damage your company’s standing, so I submit this with the
intention of helping you figure out what might be at fault. If you think it was
not your product at fault, just tell me and I will remove my review.
 * I GOT IN! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?
 * Problem is within your .htaccess scripting, I disabled the entire .htaccess temporarily
as we don’t provide support when it comes to proper scripting but we can help
you diagnosed what could be causing the issue to occur which what I did right
   now.
 * I DO not really understand the .htaccess stuff…is it a problem that will occur
   again?
 * It’s a core website file associated on your domain *******.com wherein you can
   view by accessing cPanel>File Manager>/public_html
   If not properly treated, it
could occur again so I would suggest to better ask help from a web developer
on what .htaccess scripts your developing site will be required to have in order
to be developed based on your preference moving forward

 * Thanks, nsinelnikov, for taking the time to respond. I had so many problems with
the plugin that I removed it and installed Simple Membership. Admittedly, part
of the problem was my lack of experience using WordPress, as well as my advanced
age. I also had problems with Simple Membership. My advice to plugin authors
is that once you have a tested and true plugin, that you spend a lot more time
not only on documentation, but on tutorials. Users have so many different intentions
for use of these products. I could have profited from some kind of flowchart,
one which would lead me to a successful implementation. e.g. If you just want
to restrict access to the site, go down this path. And then, don’t complicate
the instructions for going down that specific path by mentioning too many alternatives.
Just help get the necessary steps done for early success. That can be an important
step in building confidence in your users that can lead to allegiance to your
   product.

 * I just went through this myself. I am a near newbie, so take with a grain of
salt. If you go to Appearance –> Menus, over on the right check to see if one
of the panels is labeled ‘Custom’ instead of Page. That ‘Custom’ menu item confused
me for days giving me two ‘Home’ pages, both going to the same place. I opened
it up, and checked down at the bottom, “Remove”. That solved my problem after
I added the Blog page that it mysteriously also eliminated. But be forewarned,
that option of ‘Custom’ seems to have disappeared forever; I can’t get it back
and I never knew its function. My site is being developed locally on Instant
WordPress, so I don’t have a link for you to go to.

 * I have the same problem, but I am developing locally on Instant WP, so I have
no link to post. This plugin carried such high hopes, but looks like I will have
to be satisfied that it only works properly in a single side bar location.
