In reply to: Comments not showing up on blogThanks for the suggestions pluspt2001.
Sure enough, when I went to the quick edit option, the ‘allow comments’ check-box was not ticked. So when I did that, the comments option was once again available. So does that mean I have to do the quick edit step for every blog post that I create from here on out? Is there a way to make the ‘allow comments’ option a default for future posts?
If not, do you recommend any really good comment plugins?

In reply to: [Iconic One] Displaying full post on front page IssuesThanks for that information. The initial edit worked like a charm.
I’m still confused about the “If you are modifying php files, it’s better to use child theme and copy the content.php to child theme so that you can easily upgrade to new versions without loosing customizations.”
I understand why that has to be done, but not exactly how to do it.
Any help would be appreciated.

In reply to: [ShareThis Dashboard for Google Analytics] Google analytics – how to install? Thanks, Korvas. Thanks to you, I found it and put in the code. It should be smooth sailing from here!!

In reply to: [ShareThis Dashboard for Google Analytics] Google analytics – how to install?Excellent. I found it, added my new site, copied the GA code, went back to the Google Analytics plugin….
I couldn’t find anywhere to plug in the GA code or the UA #.
I was hoping that using the Google Analytics plugin would make this process a lot easier. Now I’m starting to wonder if it wouldn’t be just as easy to paste the code directly into my website. Any suggestions?

In reply to: [ShareThis Dashboard for Google Analytics] Google analytics – how to install? Thanks Korvas. Where do I go to add my latest website URL to GA? I was just on my Google dashboard and couldn’t find the link that would allow me to add another website to my lineup.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] list of subscribers?Once again Jeremy, you have shown me the light. Thanks for that information.
So now I’m trying to move my old WP “Users” over to the JetPack “Followers.” I sent a pretty detailed email to the WP Support (page/forum?) So I won’t go into great detail here. I’m not sure if that’s something you see or not, but sure either you or someone else will take good care of me, as always.
I’m patting myself on the back. I actually remembered to mark this issue “resolved” for a change.
A huge thank you for going above & beyond, Jeremy.
So far, so good. I just got my first response from a subscriber saying that he had indeed gotten an email notification. I know that he is a relatively new subscriber since I just did a product review for his company a little over a week ago. So I’m still anxiously awaiting to see if some of my long-term subscribers are getting notifications. But the signs are looking good, thanks to you.
Thanks again Jeremy!!
I just finished the process, and it was just like you said.
I just want to double check; now that I’ve reconnected my JetPack, I don’t need to go into each of the individual components like Publicize, Subscriptions & Sharing and Configure them again? I think I understand that you’re saying they will go back to being the same configuration that I had already set them at?
Sorry for all the questions, but I just want to make sure I’m doing it correctly.
Thanks again!!
Jeremy –
Thanks for the helpful advice. When you say “disconnect,” is that the same as “Deactivate?”Either way, when I do that, will I then need to go in and reset each of the individual JetPack components like comments, social media, etc.?
I appreciate your assistance.

In reply to: temporarily removing WP pagesUpdate: So I saved the contents of each page, then completely deleted (trash) the pages. So now the pages are in the trash.
But I still can’t get them off the menu. As noted earlier, when I “Remove” them from the menu, they temporarily disappear, but when I hit the save button, absolutely nothing happens and the pages are still there when I go back to the menu or to the trailsnet website. I’m confused why it absolutely won’t let me remove items/pages from my menu. It seems like it should be an easy process and it looks easy… but it just won’t work.?!

In reply to: temporarily removing WP pagesVicky,
I tried the ctrl+f5, then I reset my browser (Safari), cleared history, closed all windows, quit & restarted. But I’m still having the same problems.
I don’t understand the stuff you wrote in your next two posts. Sorry.

In reply to: temporarily removing WP pagesThanks for the suggestion, Vicky.
That was the first thing I tried, and I just tried it again, to see if it might have been a temporary glitch. But it still doesn’t work. I tried removing one of the pages by pulling down the “Page” menu, then clicked on the “Remove” link, then hit the save button. It then tries to access this url, http://trailsnet.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php, for a very long time, then I get a blank screen. When I reopen the website, the page I tried to Remove is still there.
Could it be a Safari issue or a Mac issue or something non-WP related?
