Of course, we experienced aws issues when it went down. I have since solved our problem as I am manually uploading images to our server and linking them from there in the popups plugin. (thus avoiding using aws links in general)
Just an fyi though, the aws image links still do not work. I would try to replicate it with the image link I have put above.
