Just ran into this same issue on a wordpress install hosted on DigitalOcean. Ended up just commenting out the lines in the htaccess file and going from there. Definitely a frustrating problem. Thanks to the OP for saving me a few hours of digging around!
I am running into this issue as well. My Akismet config seems fine, and other legitimate posts aren’t getting caught by the filter. I’m using the long form of the shortcode [fu-upload-form form_layout=”post_image”] with the proper closing code and a bunch of custom inputs in between.
I haven’t actually gotten an upload through since enabling the akismet.
