Right … Except that our powerpress plugin was not letting us unlink it from the blubrry account, as it would try to authenticate before it gave us the option to unlink, fail, and throw us an error instead of giving us the option to unlink. It would repeat this behavior until it had attempted enough times to temporarily lock the account. This persisted until we rolled the plugin back to before the method was changed to OAuth. Only then were we given the option to unlink it from inside of the plugin.

I’m not sure why nobody here believes me that there was no option to unlink it until we rolled the plugin back, but I promise you, there was NO way to unlink it from the account. Whatever setting renders the input for the username/password or the link for the unlink this account option is not rending these items properly if the password in blubrry is changed before the plugin is unlinked, at least some of the time. Instead, the plugin tries to authenticate, and when that fails, we’re given a generic error message with no option to unlink or change the username/password.

Again, we’ve solved our problem by rolling back the plugin for now, which then allowed us to unlink and change our blubrry account details.

Also in the example you just posted, the person unlinks their account before the password is changing at blubrry. If you are trying to test this, maybe you could try changing the account password at blubrry without unlinking the account, and then trying to log into the wordpress plugin and see if you’re still able to access the “unlink account” option?

I’m sorry, I watched the video – but when we clicked the link as shown in the video with the fully updated plugin, none of those options was available. There was just a blank box with “Blubrry Services Authentication failed. Please verify that your email and password are correct,” in a gray box with no ability to change the email and password. There was no input field at all–not like in the video.

We have been able to fix our own problem by rolling the plugin back and so no longer require assistance, but I thought you’d want to be aware of this circumstance, as it may affect other consumers, and rolling back the plugin is not a great fix.

We are going to try to roll it forward once everything has been ported over to our new hosting. If you like, we can let you know what the outcome was.

Out of curiosity, I tried rolling the plugin back to 8.3.8, since that was the last version before the authentication method was changed to OAuth–and suddenly, we had the option to add a username/email and password. It’s still saying “too many attempts” – probably because we made too many calls on the API? But we at least have the ability to disconnect and reconnect integration now.

    In fact, I have tried

    uninstalling all plugins besides powerpress
    changing the theme
uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin (no change)
cloning the entire wordpress site and moving it to a staging site on the same host
cloning the entire wordpress site and moving it to a staging installation on a DIFFERENT host

No matter what I do, we either get the gray box with the too many password attempts, or we get “Blubrry Services Authentication failed. Please verify that your email and password are correct,” in a gray box with no ability to change the email and password.

Right, that is how it’s supposed to work — and that’s the way it works on our other site. But when we click the same link on this site, we are just getting a message in a big gray box that says it can’t authenticate, and to check username and password–except that we can’t check or change the username or password, since this is the link to change it!

Actually, when I just brought it up now, it has now changed to saying, too many login attempts, try again in 24 hours. So obviously, it’s trying to authenticate with the old unsername/password and failing – but instead of giving us the option to either unhook it or change it, it just fails to a gray box with no options to change anything.
