Hi @davidbawiec
I’d recommend you first submit your bug report or feedback here as new threads per bug you find. Then our support team can validate it with you, and then put it in our feedback board.
We very much appreciate your feedback too, so if you have more general input or feedback then take that straight to the Feedback board for sure.
Thanks so much, and here’s to your success with online fundraising!

Hi @rasworpr
Can you reach out to us via our contact form? Use the option that says “I am responding to a request to contact you.” Provide the link to this thread as context, your system info, etc. and we’ll see what we can do from there.
@cityotter — see our Head of Support’s latest response to your thread here.
We do have reports of users struggling with PayPal Donations, and 9 out of 10 times, it’s an issue with the connection process. Those users reach out to PayPal directly to get clarity on that via this form:
https://givewp.com/paypal-onboarding-reports/We are working directly with PayPal on all these types of issues. Sometimes their generic support is not aware of our specific integration, but the people you will interact with via that form know GiveWP intimately and are well-informed on these types of issue.
Lastly, also keep in mind that GiveWP + PayPal Donations is working for the majority of users currently. This means that the problems are either (1) a quirk with the PayPal account itself and it’s support of the new API; or (2) other conflicting scripts or functions on the specific website outside of GiveWP’s control or influence. But regardless of what the source of the problem is, we’re here to help until you have resolution.
Reach out to us, we’ll dig in and see what we can do.
HI there!
Two things on that:
1. We’ve been getting reports of this, but it’s inconsistent and we are thinking it’s related to something with Square specifically. Many users have had success by simply deactivating the Square connection via the Connect button, and then connecting there again.
2. Because Square is a paid add-on, we need to ask you to submit your ticket via our Priority Support system, the moderators of this forum require that.

Hi there,
For troubleshooting Pixel issues, it’s best to install the FB Pixel Helper chrome extension. When I do that and review your site i see FOUR different Pixels installed on your site. I’ve obscured the full numbers here, but see here:

So it’s important to identify all the Pixels you’ve installed and try to consolidate them. It’s possible that Give is triggering on one of those four pixels and you’re looking at the wrong pixel events in your FB Event Manager.
So overall, this feels primarily like a Pixel misconfiguration, not that the Give Pixel addon is misbehaving.
This is a good article on troubleshooting pixel events on your WordPress website as well.
Let us know how that goes.
Hi there,
That’s not typical at all, so most likely it’s something with how your donation form email settings are configured. Can you provide a screenshot of those? Edit your form, then go to the “Email Notifications” tab and show us what that looks like.
Other than that, we put together this doc to help with email troubleshooting issues. The free Email Log plugin mentioned is your best friend in this case:
https://givewp.com/documentation/core/frequent-troubleshooting-issues/troubleshooting-common-email-problems/Let us know what you find on those two fronts and we’ll get this wrapped up for you no problem.
HI there,
The reason the shortcode works in the preview is because you are previewing it in the context of the whole WordPress application. The reason they don’t work in the actual email is because you do NOT have the benefit of the entire WordPress application inside a single email.
So instead of shortcodes, you need to create custom email tags. These work very similarly but they are processed BEFORE the email is created so that the output is applied as static text to the email and everything works correctly.
We have docs on creating custom email tags here:
https://givewp.com/documentation/developers/how-to-add-custom-email-tags/Thanks! And here’s to your success!
HI @terry21 We’re happy to continue to support you.
Can you point me to where you were first advised by us? Was that in our Priority Support or on our free support forum? We can continue the conversation over there.
So excellent to hear it! Our mission wouldn’t be to “Democratize Generosity” if we weren’t standing strong behind our free product. So glad to hear of your success and that our team has been helpful to you. We hope to hear MORE from you in the future!
Hi there,
Speaking from the GiveWP side of things, we don’t generally say to whitelist the plugin files themselves, but instead the pages where you are using the donation forms.
You need to make sure that all the pages related to GiveWP are whitelisted from your cache systems (it depends on the service you are using: a plugin or server). The URL includes any page with a donation form on it and/or the donation form URL itself:
the/donation-confirmation/page
the/donation-failed/page
the/donation-history/page
the/recurring-donations/page (if applicable)Thanks for this detailed report. We recorded it here:
https://feedback.givewp.com/bug-reports/p/the-donor-dashboard-should-only-be-generated-in-admin-side-pagesWe’ll address this in an upcoming hotfix.

Hi there,
After you update to 2.10, there’s a couple important things you should do as well:
1. Run the Database update that you’ll see available in “Donations > Updates”
2. Create the new Donor Dashboard. You’ll see a notice at the top of your Give settings pages about that.Once both of those are done correctly you should not have any trouble with creating posts or pages at all.
Please make a backup of your site before running updates in general, but particularly before doing the database update.
Thanks!
HI there,
I looked at your page, and navigated to the donation page. There is nothing in the content of that page at all. That’s highly unusual.
But I do see that Give is active on your website still, so my best first suggestion is to try the following:
1. Go to the Give form in your admin, edit it, and just click “Save” again, just to make sure that form is published with all its settings saved correctly.
2. Go to “Settings > Permalinks” and just click “Save” again to ensure your permalinks are saved correctly.
3. Make sure you clear any caching you have on your website, from plugins and from your web host (if they offer caching solutions).
4. Go to “Donations > Updates” and see if there’s a Database update available for you. If there is, please run that update (AFTER you’ve made a backup of your site). If you do all of that and still have trouble please try to give us as much detail as you can about what you have tried and any other details about your site that might be relevant and we’ll help get to the bottom as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Hi Kristin,
Yes, the free plugin applies a 2% fee — there’s a few options to remove that. We’d love to talk with you about it with our Customer Success team.
Please reach out via our Contact form here:
https://givewp.com/contact-usAnd use the option that says “I am responding to a request to contact you” and refer to this thread here and we’ll help however we can.
Thanks!
