    Hello

Just so happens I’m working on this area of the plugin right now. The coming update will deliver a lot more automated activity. Hoping to release before end of week.

If your happy with that release I’d appreciate a Tweet and Facebook activity to help spread the plugin.

    Thanks

Actually just uploaded the first version.

Now I’m going to work on CSV 2 POST.

A common complaint and not ignored.

I’ve spent hours over the last couple of weeks creating my Training Tools plugins. Long story short: it will allow me to manage help content on my website plus import it into my plugins. If you do create a tutorial it will be entered into Training Tools and the system will make use of the URL automatically. Even tweeting it.

It’s all about time-saving. It has delayed delivery of actual help content but it will pay-off in the long run.

    Thanks for keeping me updating.

Working on the plugin this week and the daily build 8.2.2 can be downloaded…

I have not been able to recreate this issue.

That usually means it is a conflict with another plugin or the plugins package isn’t correct.

I will release a new version soon and ensure the repository has the correct files. If you could quickly disabled all plugins and establish if it allows CSV 2 POST menu to be displayed that would be a help.

    Hello

Your the second person to report this.

I initially thought it was an issue upgrading from an older version. I didn’t put a huge amount of priority into it because I would need to access the users blog. They didn’t reply with a login.

It sounds more like a bug that can effect anyone. Making this a priority and something I’ll look at today.

Watch out for a new version soon hopefully. Problem is I’ve not seen this fault myself and I’ve also just worked on the plugin with a fresh installation of WP.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello

I don’t think csv2post_design is a valid page in the latest version but it used to be in previous.

    I think csv2post_design was changed to csv2post_content.

What version do you have installed?

Oh and geckogully the user who originally posted this thread will be getting notifications of this activity. You really should start new threads.

    Kind Regards

    Thank you.

I’m full-time on WP plugins right now. Tonight I’m working on WTG Portal Manager which will be used to create and maintain a portal per plugin.

CSV 2 POST is the first plugin to get such a portal.

Documentation will begin to trickle into the CSV 2 POST portal once the portal plugin is ready – so a lot to come from me and I feel I’m just getting started with WP so let me know if you ever feel ww.wp.xz.cn is lacking a plugin or an existing plugin is lacking a feature.

    Hello

The Update Ready screen shows a lot right now – too much. I have a task in the list to improve that.

However when that screen shoes there should be a button somewhere. It may be on the right side – easy to miss. Another thing to be changed and already changed in newer plugins that use the same update screen so such improvements will get around to CSV 2 POST.

Please find that button and from there you’ll get all the other screens.

    Thanks,
    Ryan.

    Hello

Yes CSV 2 POST can do this. Taking new rows or changed rows from a .csv file and using the properly.

The how is not simple to explain in just text and requires more than one good tutorial. Sorry to say a good tutorial does not exist yet. I’ve not long re-developed the plugin rendering 3 years of tutorials obsolete.

I’ll get on it ASAP – but that could still be January. The tutorials are high priority however part of my plan for the WTG website is a system for managing tutorials per plugin. So that it doesn’t get messy, I can track what areas of a plugin still need covered in tutorial and what tutorials need to be updated when features change. This requires a new plugin which I plan to start and get running in December.

It’s all coming together with the goal being to create a streamline service. Not just for CSV 2 POST but a large collection of plugins.

I appreciate you considering the plugin.

I agree with you. I commented just a couple of weeks back that this project is a stain on WordPress which I’d like to see fixed. However that is hard without funds which I badly need myself.

Developers selling XML importers are making $500 a day, I know that for a fact. So there is money going around and people are willing to spend.

Version 8 was released since this comment. Please use that before using 7.0.5 as a couple of new users have done after seeing this post.

I recommend searching “CSV 2 POST” in your WP admin or downloading here…

Well it was just an idea 🙂

It looks like I’ve found my place to focus on and return something to WordPress.

Jan Dembowski this month marks my 5th year working with WordPress. I remember your from the start and have always appreciate your support. All of my comments are specifically regarding this plugin I just want to be clear on that. I’m at a stage where I now feel I can and want to contribute to WP. I just need to update my newbie plugins for sake of reputation first 🙂

Greencrest there are other importer plugins worth exploring. Data exporting from WordPress can be imported using other tools.

A lot of posts have no reply.

I don’t understand how relaxed people are regarding the WordPress brand/image. Either the star ratings mean something or they don’t. If they do, then this 2 star plugin is bad apple in the WP cart. Some threads suggest people are spending hours or even days trying to complete import.

It just doesn’t look great consider how highly demanded the plugin is. I’m just saying I’d throw this bad apple out of the cart and if some scrounger wants to pick it up so be.

Despite my opinion I do plan to have a look at the plugin while making my own XML importer and hopefully provide some fixes 😉

    Hello Aliandro

Thank you for using CSV 2 POST. I discovered the Fatal Error myself a week back and fixed it. I’m trying to get a new version out soon.

The issue with values not showing on forms was a bug introduced in the last update. It was a minor change and that too has been fixed.

Lastly, the free edition is a reduction of the pro project. Meaning there is text that suggest the use of features that do not exist. It is a case of me establishing where to avoid mentioning pro features. It’s hard because many features are only decided as being pro or not just days before release. I fully understand the confusion and will try to establish a system in my development that avoids this.

I think you should try the new version, coming within a matter of days. Keep me updated, continue to get my free support and if I can prove how good the plugin is. You may want to make use of a discount code on the pro edition which I will give in return for these troubles.

    Thanks
    Ryan
