Sorry for the delay; I’ve been traveling. I’m encountering these issues on iPhone 16, iPhone 14, PC laptop, MacBook, and PC desktop, and I’ve tried using Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Bing. I’d be curious to know how it’s being displayed on your end, but for me, I’m seeing:

Mobile directory layout

Map is displayed at 100% width of screen (which is good)
Filters are not visible at all
Profiles are displayed at 100% width of screen, below the map (which is good)

Desktop directory layout

The map and filters are both displayed to the left of the profiles (filters to the left of the profile is good, but map on the left not)
Map and filters are the same with (~25% of screen)

Could it be because the modified UM Members Directory Left Filter Box members.php template is using table-cell, table-row, table, etc., instead of flex? To reiterate, what I’m trying to achieve is for the map to display 100% width above the profiles and filters, and below the map, the filters to be displayed to the left of the profiles.

Sorry for the delay and thank you for updating the template. I applied the changes but as you can see on https://www.kcfarmlink.org/find-a-farm/, the map is now the same width as the filters and also displayed to the left of the profiles. Is there a way for the map to be above the profiles? I greatly appreciate your patience and help!

I don’t have any active caching plugins. I just asked my web host support (DreamHost) to disable caching on the UM pages, and their response was “the shared plans that we offer do not have any server-side caching.” The hosting support also confirmed that I do not have CDN caching enabled.

I re-checked the templates, and yes, my template version is up to date. Core version (2.6.8), Theme version (2.6.8). Below is exactly what my UM Settings -> Advanced -> Override templates displays.

Core path - wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member/templates/members.php
Theme path - wp-content/themes/divi-child/ultimate-member/templates/members.php

I have verified that every plugin of yours related to this topic is up to date, and I checked my “User Locations” plugin and have the most up to date version (1.1.4).

I’ve tried everything and don’t know what else to do… any thoughts?

I’ve updated all plugins, but it didn’t have any effect on the member directories. Also, I’m not sure what instructions you are implying when you said:

“The three “ultimate-member” entries might be from one of my plugins at GitHub.

Four “um-user-locations” are from one of the UM extended paid plugins.”

Also, I just realized that I accidentally put https://landlinknm.org/find-a-farm/ for “The page I need help with:” at the start of this topic, but the correct link for “The page I need help with:” is https://www.kcfarmlink.org/find-a-farm/, which is the page I’ve been applying your instructions to in this thread. My apologies!

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I’m using the updated members.php template, and if ( wp_is_mobile() ) { is on line 23, but it’s still not responsive. Just as a side note, I’ve checked for plugin conflicts, disabled and cleared my cache, there are also no console errors, and I have disabled any CSS code snippets related to the directory and filters.

Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for your help @missveronica

I followed the instructions above, and the custom left filter box template only displays on desktop, and is default members.php layout is now rendered on mobile and tablet. So, it works!

However, after applying these changes, my filter labels have disappeared. The filter box outlines and dropdown arrows are there, but no labels- just blank boxes.

Question: for the new members.php file created in my active theme’s template folder, should this file only have the additional code snippet or the contents of the custom left filter template with the addition of the new code snippet?

Thank you for getting back to me! I recently removed my custom filter labels from my active-theme/ultimate-member/templates/members.php because the code was no longer modifying the filter labels. I tried using my filter label code as a code snippet, but that didn’t seem to work either. The filter label code that I originally had in my members.php file is below. Do you know where this snippet should be placed in the https://github.com/MissVeronica/UM-Members-Directory-Left-Filter-Box ?

I can’t figure out how to apply my modified filter labels to my current members.php template that has the left filter box:

Before, my label code was inserted after $type = UM()->member_directory()->filter_types[ $filter ]; ?> on line 330, but this doesn’t seem to be the right place to add my label code in the left filter box template. I found the $type = UM()->member_directory()->filter_types[ $filter ]; ?> on line 198 in the members.php left filter box template and tried to add my previous label code line 199, but that caused a fatal error.

I would sincerely appreciate any help!
