The issue is that softaculous pretty much imposes Pagelayer as you install and chose themes.
PL seems to compromise all the benefits of open source functionality and access that have come before.
May have to try an install of a new WP with chic lite without pagelayer and see how that works.
thank you, yes Pagelayer and the theme are seperate, except they are linked as we install WP these days. As we follow the new installation instructions we are offered PopularFX themes that are controlled by the Pagelayer editor.
without PL the theme doesn’t seem to work at all. But with it, the mobile app doesn’t work.
in fact I did disabled PL and reactivated, and now the posts are not showing up in the category pages 😞 eg https://fionasark.org.uk/category/needing_home/dogs_rehome/ should come up with several posts, but is now blank.
