    XML-RPC is an awesome internal tool (“internal” means it does not have any interface in WordPress), which can be used for 3rd party sites, apps and tools to control your WordPress site.

    So, if you don’t use the Jetpack plugin OR does not want to have any support for “trackbacks” in your blog, then its safe (and a good idea) to disable it by using our plugin.

    Hi Atomizer,
    We are currently (intentionally) only supporting Apache’s mod_rewrite (htaccess) via this plugin.

    The main reason behind this was that we wanted to make this plugin work and solve tons of problems on users running WordPress on a shared hosting (cPanel, etc).

    This is why we currently don’t have the feature to disable hotlinking on nginx.

    Also, have in mind that even if we did, you would still had to have access to the nginx’s virtual host configuration file.

    Just being curious too, can you share the name/link of your hosting company? They should have some way of adding custom rewrites, so we will be happy to contact them and see what solution they have for your problem (even that, this will be only specific to your site/account and most likely won’t get included in our plugin in the next few versions, until properly tested).
