In reply to: XMLParser::XMLParser() Error line 700 715I heard from the author of this plugin. They were hired by answer.com to write it. Any support or bug fixes needs to come from answer.com. I emailed them.

In reply to: XMLParser::XMLParser() Error line 700 715I have the same issue and have seen it posted on another site also. Seems to be very common. I sent the plugin author a contact message. Hopefully he will have a minute to let us know what we have in common on our sites that is causing the plugin not to work.

In reply to: A different type of related posts plugin?I’ll take another look. I had seen that, but only saw that it could put a “next in series” or “previous in series” button at the bottom of each post. I did not see any way or example of it being used to actually display that list of posts in the “series” as a sort of related post list. I might have written it off for this use too fast. I’ll check it again.
Thanks for the suggestion!
That’s also what I thought Otto to be saying. I’m sure someone will let us know if we are not getting it.

In reply to: Recommendations for books or manuals listing tags etc.?Hey Thanks! Those seem to be exactly what I meant.
OK, that is the part I misunderstood, not having made a sitemap with the plugin. I thought it just provided a map to your whole site. Thanks!
But if you provide a sitemap for Google using this plugin, doesn’t it defeat the limiting rules in a customized robots.txt file?

In reply to: Recommendations for books or manuals listing tags etc.?Jeremy – Thanks I have seen those pages and they are what I had in mind as wanting, except I wanted it in actual small book form to keep right at hand on my desk. I know books are a bit old fashioned, but for something like this I like to have them to flag, write in etc.
On edit: Maybe I’ll just print those out for now.
I use the robots.txt method, but have not used a site map. Do you know if sitemaps allow you to exclude areas from indexing? My understanding was that a sitemap provided directions to all parts of your site and would defeat the purpose of a limiting robots.txt file. Is that a misunderstanding?

In reply to: Bizarre upgrade messageJust as a note, I got the same message and I followed all the myriad of instructions. I had a message from another WordPress user who saw the same thing. In both our cases when we go to our dashboards it shows 2.3.1. So for some reason I guess you do not need to run the upgrade script to go from 2.3 to 2.31

In reply to: Categories to TagsOdd that you should ask this as I have the opposite. All my categories display as tags. I want the tags to display, but not the categories. Still searching for that answer, but it seems the way it is working for you is how I want it.
On edit: Turns out it is only some of my categories that display as tags and the reason is some sort of conflict between a plugin I am using called Simple Tags and the taggin in 2.3. It only happens when you have a category in WP that has the same name as a tag in Simple Tags.

In reply to: Error when posting commentsI had forgotten about the issue detailed months ago in the below thread. I had fixed the wp-db.php file in 2.1. I am thinking that now that I have upgraded, I needed to fix the one that comes with 2.3 also. I have done it and will see if this resolves the problem.

In reply to: wp-comments-post.php corrupted??Hi beyondelsewhere: I don’t think I missed it in the posts above, but is your host, by chance the same as mine, GoDaddy? I posted a different problem with comments just a while ago, so no replies yet. But it just started very recently. I have upgraded to 2.3 also and it worked great for a week or two. GoDaddy denies a problem on their end, (like always). Interestingly, I too had a couple of “500 internal server” errors happen to me today and that has never happened before.
on edit: I now got your site to load for me and I see that you mention your host in one of your posts. Not GoDaddy. So no link there. Thanks.
