That happened with the Paypal donation Plugin, Sticky Buttons plugin and even in a link coded inside a page with mailto:[email protected]. Perhaps that shows some info security problems…
I did deactivate and reactivate all plugins and uploaded and installed the site over and over, always after cleaning completely the directory assigned to me. Links with http:// pass with no problem. email addresses won’t.
Is there a solution that does not include moving to another server?

Sure did. But I was able to work around and edit all mistaken mail addresses. It seems to me now that there is a prob with 000webhost.com. The prob appears only if you built everything in your machine for instance and then upload a site to this webhost targeting a completely empty public_html directory using Duplicator Plugin.
Is you use the webhost environment to build everything, you wont have any problem. So I was able to correct all mistaken data. I am still waiting for an answer from the webhost.
