• To my fellow frustrated users,

The GOOD news: with the WP Rollback plugin, you can install a WORKING copy of this now less-than-operational plugin!

The last fully functional version of this plugin is 1.3.16

I’d state that less harshly if the elevation chart in newer versions weren’t an absolute mess. I’d also be less animate about it if the developers (is it really open source?) were to acknowledge that they knew of the bug and were doing anything to fix it.

Again, 1.3.16 is that last release of this plugin that actually does what it suggests. Beyond that, we have an error-riddled altitude chart that shows repeat images of the very same map as a background.

Again: WP Rollback … to the excitingly dated release of 1.3.16.

Maybe this will inspire a response on what’s now an well-aged bug long ignored.

    Nope.

Well, I’ve been tinkering with the latest version to get it working, which I thought I’d done, getting the tooltips to work properly, showing the correct unit of distance, and also getting them to show the distance to two decimal places, which looks much better on shorter tracks as the rounding meant it really wasn’t worth looking at the tooltip.

Having done that I’ve just noticed this morning that the x-axis on the charts also does a horrible rounding for the distance too. This isn’t as noticeable on longer tracks, but again, on shorter tracks this looks awful, and wasn’t a problem with the last know good working version (1.3.16).

I’ve reverted all of my sites I use this on back to 1.3.16 for now and I’ll carry on looking into the x-axis issue.

If I get everything I want working then I’ll let you know the fixes I used and then you might be able to move to the latest version. Trying to get people to pay you to fix a free plugin is a bit bloody cheeky if you ask me!

I’m a little surprised that a new version of the plugin was released recently which didn’t address any of the issues raised on this support forum at all?! Are the developers actually reading these threads?!?!

This plugin worked perfectly for years, but then the developer (Massimo) had the rug pulled out from under his feet when he was told he could no longer use High Charts because it is licensed under a Creative Commons licenses. See more here:

    https://devfarm.it

Bear in mind that this is something that we get for free, and the guy has a living to make (and a life).

If I were a developer, reading a thread like this, I’d be sorely tempted to say “f*** it’ and walk away.

So how about a little courtesy and understanding, instead of instead of talking like ignorant jerks with entitlement issues?

    Sure.

(… continues enjoying 1.3.16 rollback while wondering where open source coders can login to add or up-vote remedies to whatever known bugs remain)

    Ignorant jerks? Really? Sheesh!

Robin Dean, can you share the version? Thanks!

Still hanging onto 1.3. Whatever happened to 1.4.x anyway?
