1 Star – Misleading Terms & Missing Features
-
I purchased CYTRIO through AppSumo in June 2024, when the deal clearly included unlimited domains and advertised features such as weekly cookie scans. At that time, there were no restrictions requiring that domains be “owned and operated” by me, nor was there any mention of an Agency licence.
Since then, CYTRIO has:
- Changed their Terms of Service on Appsumo (May 2025) to add new restrictions, and is applying them retroactively to existing customers.
- Wrongly flagged some of my own domains as “third-party,” even after I provided proof of ownership.
- Failed to deliver advertised features — weekly cookie scans have never worked, and their own support confirmed this is not available. I’ve had to request rescans manually and now check sites myself to identify missing cookies, which is a huge inconvenience and undermines GDPR compliance.
- Stopped responding to support queries once I raised these issues with evidence.
Instead of saving time and ensuring compliance, CYTRIO has created more manual work and left me uncertain about whether my sites are legally covered.
It feels like early supporters are being punished with restrictions and upsell attempts, while promised features remain undelivered. I cannot recommend this plugin until CYTRIO honours its original AppSumo deal terms and fixes the compliance features.
