11000 comments waiting for approval…

    I have been away from my blog for a long time, and I have had alot of spam problems. How do I delete all these comments? I get a timeout after 4500 comments have been shown on the approval-page (30 seconds limit..).

    Thanks, but I have not direct access to the database, and neither do I have phpMyAdmin…

    Is there another way?

    no.

    get yourself phpmyadmin by installing a wordpress plugin of the same name.

    Nice, didn’t know about that plugin.

    But before reading your reply, I found another way! 🙂 I simply changed the “20” parameter in “edit-comments.php” to “500” on two places close to each other, and wola now I could delete 500 comments at once. I think it could have been set to 2000 or so also.

    I wouldn’t want to do eleven thousand comments that way, but if that feels easier, then I’m glad you found your answer.
