2 systematic errors with givewp

Hi,

we have systematically all the time those two errors (wp-admin) with the plugin (latest version).
How to solve those two warnings? Is that an issue or just cosmetic?

Hello @laurentngu ,

Glad you reached out, happy to help.

I see the two notices at the top of the screen mentioning that you have some database migration updates that still need to run to completion.

Before applying the instructions below, I can’t stress enough to make sure you get a FULL backup of your website that you can confidently restore from if needed. Your site files and especially your database. You can often do this in your web hosting account.

Next, go to GiveWP >> Tools >> Data >> Database updates, and go one of the last two pages where you will see these update migrations related to the 4.x version.

If you see any with a “Failed” status like below, you’ll need to go to your database directly to make a change to allow the rest of the “Pending” updates to run. If you are not comfortable doing this, your web host should be able to assist you with this step.

In your site’s MySQL database, look for the table wp_give_migrations , (your table prefix might be something other than “wp_”) and locate the entry with the status of “failed”, and delete that row. Here is an image from a test database of what that looks like:

As soon as you do that, any “Pending” updates will fire off automatically. Note: these migrations might take a while depending on the number of records in each table. However, this process will run in the background, so you can keep working on the website.

If you do not see an entry with a “Failed” status, but they are still not completed, you can run those manually. To do this, navigate to GiveWP >> Settings >> Advanced, and enable the “Advanced Database Updates” setting, and save those changes. This will add a Re-run Update button next to the migration entry.

After that, click the Re-run update button for any entries that have not completed, preferably going in order.
