Upgraded and content/tracking code under “extra code” or “code added to page” did not populate under general settings “webmaster tools”. There was a tracking code that now I cant delete. tried to reset “webmaster” and no luck. Besides going into the DB, how can I delete data from previous version such as tracking code inserted. The page no longer exists and now called webmaster tools. Another note, the index page lost the description when dynamic tags were inserted by the upgrade without my knowledge. How can I get the description back.

Can you please check and let me know if you’ve installed and activated MonsterInsights on your site?If so, can you temporarily deactivate the MonsterInsights plugin and see if you’re then able to remove the code from All in One SEO > General Settings > Webmaster Tools?
With regards to “the index page lost the description”, if you’re facing this issue when migrating from v3 to v4 then it means you had incorrectly enabled a button in v3. We provided a setting called “Use Static Front Page Instead” for sites using a static front page. If you are using a static front page but still had this setting disabled, then that’s the reason why the description did not migrate.

We have removed this setting now to avoid confusion, however, it’s not possible to recover that incorrectly set meta description from the plugin itself. You can copy your old description from https://archive.org/ and then paste it into the Meta Description field present on the Edit Page screen of your homepage.
