We have a lesson which contains a quiz with 200 questions. Unfortunately, after the students are on the quiz page for longer than about 15 minutes, the Complete Quiz and Save quiz buttons are redirecting to the homepage instead of saving/submitting the quiz. We’ve verified this occurrence in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome so far. Is there some sort of timeout setting that could be modified?

    Hi there.

That’s strange. There’s no built-in timeout, and I just tested it and the buttons still worked after 30 mins on the page.

Are the users still logged in after they are redirected? I’m wondering if there’s something else that might be logging users out after 15 minutes of inactivity or something.

    Hi Dan,
No, the users are still logged in after the redirect. We’ve not been able to figure it out. Wondering if the future addition of pagination on such long quizzes will help.
    Thank you!

    Hi @jnpuckett ,

Sorry for the delay in responding!

I just tried to test this by creating a 200 question quiz and then sitting on the page for 15-20 minutes.

I wasn’t able to duplicate this redirecting behavior you’re describing; and after 15 minutes I was able to save the quiz successfully.

I made a screencast starting at about the 15 minute mark of my wait (+ a few minutes), so you can see that it seems to be working fine on my test site: https://cloudup.com/cFQaWX303Sg

So it’s possible there’s some plugin or theme conflict causing the time out.

    Best,
    Cena
