okay it wasnt that code it was the update itself.
heres whats happening, but this is as far as my knowledge goes, so help is grealty appreciated.
it does it after a new post, and it takes it a bit but it comes back. but why? sql was working fine before the update. is it the new way it accesses to avoide security issues?
did a refresh and it was doing it again.
did another, and its fine again
i’m stumped
thanks in advance for any help
ok, tested this a ton of times… it only does this when i am also logged into the admin in another tab or window, not sure if it’s doing it to other people when i’m logged in but it is doing it to me when i have both open in windows or tabs.
its driving me crazy
Also noticed that clicking a post’s “no comment” link will display this:
http://www.unitedalone.com/2007/01/25/posting-oversight/#respond
in the address bar but wont display the actual page to leave comments
in addition the display in IE6 is atrocious, what the heck happened?
I have validated the page at this address
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.unitedalone.com%2F
so i know that isnt my issue.
Still wont load right when i am logged into the admin panel.
Still doesnt look right in IE6.
Still doesnt load the commenting system as re: above, i even tried an a test user account.
anyone have instructions for going back to a 2.0.x version?
instructions, well did you happen to make a backup of your site and mysql database before you upgraded?
If you did, consider yourself lucky.
1. delete all the wordpress tables that are currently in your db
2. delete all the wp files except wp-config (download that to a safe place)
3. Upload a copy of the latest 2.0.x version. Upload that saved wp-config.php to where it belongs. Go through install.
4. Upload your backed up wordpress files, (themes, hacked files, etc..). If you dont have any of those , you can skip this step.
5, Now the hard part, well not so hard just time consuming. You have to restore the database using your last mysql backup. Use phpmyadmin.
I feel for you, trust me.
i have my database, and the wp-config.php, my htaccess, and my content directory, althoguh i can get everything that was in my content directory and i doont think it chnages anything in there… well the cache…
the crappy part is losing the newer posts. i did make one since the last post does it metter that i updated to wp2.1? i bet it does…
