• There is still something wrong with the counts. When I upgraded from 2.7.7 to 2.3.0, the counts seemed fine at first. However, in the last hour, some pages on my site have a drastically reduced count. I deleted 2.3.0 and reverted to 2.7.7. The missing counts persist. Do any of your edits affect more than the plugin? Is it possible that you made a change that affected 2.7.7? The counts have been in flux since the release of mashcount.

  • Hi Christopher,

think i know whats the problem. The only reliable source of shares is facebook, the other networks does not deliver reliable counts, so the shares are fluctuating. I will write a fix for this. The old Mashshare version was using a cache which detected if new share count is less than previous one and if so it has not stored and delivered the new share count. I bring back that function.

Makes perfect sense. In the mean time, users should revert to 2.7.7 until the next release if they want consistent counts. To revert to 2.7.7, deactivate 2.3.0, delete 2.3.0 (it will not delete your settings), install 2.7.7, activate 2.7.7.

    Fixed in latest version
