2.8.5 Upgrade – Fatal Error cannot access wp-admin

    I recently used the auto-upgrade to 2.8.5 and received the following error:

    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in ……/wp-admin/includes/update.php on line 105.

    I went to the php.ini file and changed the memory limit to 64, but that didn’t do anything and I can’t access the wp-admin back end. Any ideas?

    RESOLVED!

    I actually deleted the PHP.ini and the WP_CONFIG from my server and then re-uploaded them and it did the trick. Seemed like editing them alone was not enough, but deleting and re-uploading with the new values took care of it.
