    Hi,

    Recently the 2FA email code doesn’t work anymore.
    Even though I still can received the “just logged in” email.
    I’m not sure why though.
    I’m not sure is it my wordpress problem, the plugin problem or my hosting server problem.

    Any idea?

    Just an update.

    I got an email log indicated that the email is sent but I didn’t receive in my inbox. Only received the logged in email.

    My guess is then you have something filtering emails. You just need to find out where:

    • at your web server
    • your email smtp server
    • your receive inbox – spam filtering, or moving to an unknown folder

    Maybe do this and it’ll eliminate the first 2 for good.

    Hi,

    I tried using mailgun and now it works.

    But there is a weird issue with the mailgun plugin.
    There is an option where you can select whether to use HTTP connection or just SMTP.
    Option Yes for HTTP connection. Option No for SMTP.

    If I select No, somehow when I test send email, it couldn’t get the SMTP connected. Not sure why.

    If I select Yes, now it works. It was not working at first. I guessing probably due to the domain verification and DNS settings which could take some hours for hosting server to properly fully connected with mailgun.

    So I wondering if you have any idea why using SMTP option for mailgun doesn’t work.

    HTTP is what you want. That is the win from using Mailgun – you use the API over HTTP and not SMTP because outgoing SMTP from many web hosting accounts is easily blocked.

    Stick to HTTP by default and you’ll be more than absolutely fine.

    Hi,

    Earlier when I tried to login with 2FA email, somehow I didn’t receive any email code. No email is sent.

    So I did a forceoff and disabled the 2FA email and logged in with only the normal 2FA, then I received all the emails.

    Not sure why but it seems the emails got delayed or not triggered somehow.

    Any idea?

    This is down to Mailgun or whichever service you use. The emails are sent through Shield immediately. No delay on the part of the plugin.
