    Hello there,

I am using hCaptcha at the log-in page. After activating 2FA for my user-account I cannot log-in anymore. It shows me 2 text fields for username and password and the hCaptcha on it. After pressing on “Login” I get an error message, that I must enter my 2FA Code as prompted. But there’s no input field for the code showing.

I am pretty sure Wordfence is not compatible with hCaptcha. May you add compatibility for the plugin? reCAPTCHA 3 is not an option for my site due to data privacy.

I am using the latest version of the Wordfence plugin.

    Regards,

    Variatox

  • Thanks for reaching out. We haven’t tested the plugin with hCaptcha. We are discussing offering hCaptcha as an alternative to reCAPTCHA, specifically because of the reason you mentioned (IIRC). I do not have a time or specific release it might be included in because we are just starting the discussion on it, but I will make it known that someone else has asked about it.

What you can try as a workaround, is this:
On the login form enter your username as normal.
In the password field enter your password, a space, and then the 2FA code.
For example, if your password was w0rdf3nc3! and the code was 123 456, you would enter it in the password field like this:
    w0rdf3nc3! 123456

Try that and see if it gets you in.

    Mia
