301 Redirects Help

Hi, I wondered if you would be able to provide any information regarding 301 redirects.
A business who currently uses the Microsoft platform to build and host their website has come to me regarding a redesign as the platform will be ending and he has been advised to move over to Wix and he would prefer to have it built in WordPress.
He is concerned that he will lose his current SEO and ranking however I know we can do 301 url redirects so if someone visits an old URL it will redirect to his new WordPress websites database and adding them in there?
So for example his home page is
http://www.customerswebsite.com/Pages/default.aspxunder the Microsoft platform. Can I set up a redirect in the new WordPress website that will redirect that old page tohttp://www.customerswebsite.com?Not to worry if you can’t help but any info would be much appreciated.

301s can be done in the web server’s virtual host settings, in .htaccess, or via a plugin. I like the plugin ‘Simple 301 redirect’ because, well, it’s simple.
You’d add a row, put
/Pages/default.aspxon the left and/on the right, click save, and you’re done.
