• Hi all,

When uploading a new image, wp usually saves it in 4 different dimensions. In my uploads folder there are many more, up to 35 versions of every image, that can’t be good.

Does anybody have any idea why and which ones I can delete? (I.e. Which ones are necessary or how I can find out which ones are necessary)

My site is really slow and I am trying everything to change that.

    Cheers,

yep 35, I have a screenshot to prove it 🙂

I am guessing it is because I am using woocommerce and have changed the image dimensions quite a few times and I have consequently used the re-crop image plugin many times.

I have found this “DNUI Delete not used image” plugin, after backing up all 35 versions of my images I’ll delete the unused ones and hope that it wont happen again as I’ve settled down on my image dimensions for wc.

If anyone else also finds more then 4 image dimensions: some plugins need their own dimensions and they consequently make them. So they are not always redundant.

I was wrong, DNUI doesn’t fix the problem, and I thought it didn’t apply to new images, but it dus.

On uploading a new image still 21 different dimensions are being made. Anyone a clue as to why?
