401 error when logging in

We are hosting our WordPress sites with a Managed WordPress Hosting provider. We recently discovered that anyone trying to log into one of our sites using older versions of browsers are getting a 401 error. In discussing the issue with our hosting company, they are telling us that the issue is because the older browsers are trying to connect to the sites over TLS 1.0 and the hosting company has disabled 1.0 in favor of 1.1 and 1.2.

Has anyone experience this before? Is there a work around?

The simple solution would be to tell people to upgrade their tech but when you are dealing with membership sites, not everyone is as willing.
