Unfortunately we do not have any tools or authorization to check or verify Vipps MobilePay merchant information, as we simply support and develop this plugin itself.
I have found some information for you about your specific error on their developer docs: https://developer.vippsmobilepay.com/docs/knowledge-base/errors/#why-do-i-get-merchant-unavailable-deleted-deactivated-or-not-allowed-to-make-payments. Please check it out, and if it doesn’t help I recommend contacting Vipps MobilePay support. They have the tools necessary to help you.
They also have a tendency to dump issues happening while using our plugin down to us, even though as previously mentioned our hands are tied. Let us know if this happens.
Sorry we can’t be of more immediate help!
Unfortunately, Vipps Mobilepay have very low quality support.
I see. Did you check out the previously mentioned link regarding your specific error? They list several potential causes and fixes.
Additional things to verify is that you’re not using live credentials against the test environment, or the other way around. However the specific error you get makes me believe this might not be the issue, which is why I didn’t originally mention it.
Let me know if you’ve exhausted these steps without a fix.
So, Vipps MobilePay chat support is low quality, the phone support solved my problem.
The issue is that Vipps sells many different online payment products. Our products was not the right one (login) for the plugin, which should be “checkout”.
So: credentials were right, account was OK, but the product was wrong.
A helpfull error could be “You do not have an active “Checkout” agreement” or similar.
Thanks for your time on this issue 🙂
The error message comes directly from the Vipps MobilePay, I agree a message like yours could be helpful for that scenario, but it depends a bit on the circumstances at the time of the error.
Anyways, great that you fixed your issue.
