403 error.. what do I do here?

    I am trying to use an .htaccess file to password protect my WP site.

    I have it under a file named /rrbmembers

    The .htaccess file keeps giving me a 403 error when I type in the url to my WP site.

    However when I use this .htaccess file on my other directories, it gives me the username/password prompt.

    Is there something I have to do to the .htaccess file Im not aware of?
