    I am getting an error when I try to connect my mail chimp API key to the mail chimp plugin. It used to work but now says MailChimp returned the following error:Forbidden. API key access has been revoked Request: GET https://us7.api.mailchimp.com/3.0/ Response: 403 Forbidden – {“type”:”http://developer.mailchimp.com/documentation/mailchimp/guides/error-glossary/”,”title”:”Forbidden”,”status”:403,”detail”:”API key access has been revoked”,”instance”:”c0c2429d-9d80-41d7-be51-bf484ab62d18″}

    On their help forum, it says,

    This means that the IP address of your website is blacklisted by the Akamai firewall (because of poor reputation). Akamai is the firewall MailChimp and many other major websites use to protect their servers, which is why this is somewhat harder to fix.When this happens, we recommend you to change your IP address because having a bad reputation at Akamai does not just affect the MailChimp API.

    I called Blue host to change my IP account since I have a shared IP account and the only way to do this is to pay for an individual IP. She ran a command test to see if the IP address is block and the response says it is blocked by Mailchimp’s firewall.

    I really want to avoid paying for an individual IP. Is there anyway else around this issue?

    Please click the link below the API field (Get your API key here) and generate a NEW API key, the key you are trying to use is no longer valid for whatever reason.

    If the IP was blacklisted by Akamai you would get a 503 error and not reach their API at all / not get this API 403 response.

    Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let us know!
