404 error
-
I’m seeing a 404 error on a request to /css/bspstyle.css and I can see that no such file exists and it does not exist in the installation zip either?

ok, if you’ve just installed, then go into settings>bbp style pack > forums index styling. On entering this page the bspstyle.css should be created.
If not come back and I’ll help further
The plugin has been installed for a while. I’ve just checked on that settings page and it’s all populated properly. I clicked on save settings, just to sure, and checked the css folder via ftp, but it still just contains the styles.php, not the bspstyle.css.
ok, so are the settings all taking effect?
Yes they are. I’ve created a blank bspstyle.css file and the error seems to have gone.
If my installation is corrupt, can I somehow save my settings and do a clean install?
can you just tell me if you are using http or https ?
ok, don’t quite understand what the issue was, but if it has gone away and the plugin is doing it’s job, I’d leave it alone
Shouldn’t the bspstyle.css contain all of my style settings though?
How can it still be working when the file’s empty?
Don’t know ! Yes the file is created by the settings.
I think it’s a case of if it isn’t broken…
How about if I just write all the settings down, then deactivate and delete the plugin, then reinstall and re-do the settings?
Should I do any intermediate stage to ensure it’s properly removed?
If you delete the plugin it does not take away the settings in the database, so you can delete and re-install without issue, but I see no benefit in doing this.
The bspstyle.css only contains some of the settings ie the ones that affect style. For instance if you go into the forums index styling and set Background color – odd numbers to red and save the bspstyle.css is generated.
But mot all settings use css – for instance the settings in Forum Display tab use functions not css settings, so if you have only changed these, then a bspstyle.css would not be generated.
However since you now have a bspstyle.css, functioning changes and no errors – I’m not sure what you continued concern is?
Okay, I’ll leave it then π
Thanks for your help.
no problem, if you see any issues, do come back and post a fresh post – I’m not uninterested, just short of time, so will always work in issues that affect a website !

Robin
