Hi @dnsachs,
Thanks for getting in touch. So we can assist you and ensure the plugin works as expected, please share the following:
- At what stage do you encounter the 404 page? For example, is this after clicking on a particular button during initial plugin set up?
- Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
- Have you been able to set up Site Kit previously, including from a different domain or staging site, before going live?
Let me know if you have nay questions with the above.
Thanks for the prompt reply James!
- I’m sent to the 404 page every time I click “sign in with Google”. I’ve pasted the url it takes me to here: https://www.bayareaweddings.com/o/oauth2/auth?access_type=offline&application_name=wordpress%2Fgoogle-site-kit%2F1.89.0&client_id=LN2dCvGytAvbdyyrvSkZie-QrY2aXDSbhcTKLJFQdhU26.apps.sitekit.withgoogle.com&hl=en_US&mode=analytics-step&nonce=0dfc01debb&prompt=consent&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fbayareaweddings.com%2Fblog%2Fwp-admin%2Findex.php%3Foauth2callback%3D1&response_type=code&scope=openid+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fuserinfo.profile+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fuserinfo.email+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fsiteverification+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fwebmasters+https%3A%2F%2Fwww.googleapis.com%2Fauth%2Fanalytics.readonly&service_version=v2&site_code_required=true&supports=credentials_retrieval+short_verification_token+user_input_flow&user_roles=administrator)
2. I’ve uploaded the info via your form.
3. This is my first time trying to use Site Kit
Thank you!
Many thanks for sharing. I’ve checked your details and I’m unable to access your public REST Endpoints. In addition to having various optimizations performed (from checking your sites source code) I suspect what’s occuring may be due to your goodgallery configurations.
As your content is served from a Goodgallery CDN please perform the checks before and share whether you’re able to successfully set up Site Kit:
- Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
- Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
- Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot
- From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
- Attempt to setup Site Kit once more
Let me know how you get on with the above. If the same occurs, we may need to temporary deactivate your Goodgallery plugin, or check your CDN configurations.
Hi @dnsachs,
I’m just following up with you to check whether you’ve had time to perform the above checks. If you need any assistance with this let me know.
Hi James, unfortunately the same issue persists after following your directions
Many thanks for the update @dnsachs. As the same is occurring after performing the checks above this likely indicates a block at hot level.
As you have various optimizations performed, including the inability to check your public WordPress REST endpoints, can you check for any blocks with your hosting provider, which also seems to be using a CDN? You can mention that Site Kit needs to be able to connect with sitekit.withgoogle.com, and this can be checked using wp-cli, a cURL command or with shell access.
From your own side, I suspect you’ll have no problem setting up Site Kit on this disposable WordPress site.
I’ll keep this support topic open while you check with your hosting provider.
Hi @dnsachs,
I’m following up with you to check whether you’ve had a chance to check this with your hosting provider, or confirm that you don’t encounter any issues with a disposable WordPress site?
As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
