404 Error for category tabs when changing permalink structure

    I just tried changing my permalink structure from Default to custom, which ends with /%category%/%postname%. For all my posts on my website that new structure works perfectly fine, but at the top of my website are category tabs for people to click on and which also archive new/past posts.

    When I click on any of the tabs at the top of my webpage I get a 404 Error. How do I adjust the permalink structure so that these category pages get displayed properly?
